- BAD OMENS, 3/11/2026, TD GARDEN - going to a metal show in the middle of a massive migraine flare was not my smartest play, but the show was damn good anyway. i knew the setlist going in so i know specter opened, and that was as transcendent as you'd think it is - but i was surprised at how much hearing impose as the closer would take my breath away. also: some of the best lighting+video work i've ever seen at a show.
- THE PROTOMEN, 1/8-1/10 2026, MAGFEST 2026 - the three day protomen show was the reason i bought a magfest badge at all and i'm so glad i did, because it was also one of my favorite con experiences in addition to being one of my favorite shows. shoutout greg for holding barrier for me for two nights so i could be right up close for acts i and iii. i was chugging water for that entire show so i wouldn't pass out and by god am i glad i did. there's too much to talk about here, so i'll just shoutout commander's violin. does the man know how to do everything???
- THE CRANE WIVES, 11/21/2025, ROADRUNNER - second time seeing the crane wives! i always say i'm gonna know more of the words when i see them but that didn't happen this time lol. that said when they started into sleeping giants for the encore i absolutely lost my shit; that was my first ever crane wives song and i didn't expect to get to hear them play it live.
- MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, 9/7/2025, FENWAY PARK - i was too young for the original black parade tour, so there was no chance AT ALL that i was going to miss the long live the black parade tour. this was the show that made me realize balcony seats at an arena are NOT where you go to dance, because everyone around me was so stiff the entire show, even for planetary go. PLANETARY. GO. tf. this was also the legendary double vampires show but as a latecomer to mcr i was significantly more excited that they played summertime.
- GREEN DAY, 8/7/2024, FENWAY PARK - thirteen year old mk didn't really have a favorite album until american idiot. i didn't even really have a favorite band, not truly, until green day. i have been ITCHING to see them live since my first real concert informed me that live music good, actually. so yeah. of COURSE i was gonna see the dookie-AI anniversary tour, probably my ONLY chance to hear some of my favorites live. and ohhhhhhh was it fucking worth it. to scream are we the waiting to the sky. to see a sea of lights as billie joe reminded us we were all still alive. to dance like no one was watching to basket case. and to hear homecoming sung with a couple thousand others. what a joy. what a night.
- THE CRANE WIVES, 7/21/2024, ROYALE- this show was NOT the live debut of scars, but it was the debut for me! i loved going to see a smaller band in a crowd of people who were genuinely just so fucking happy to be there. the crane wives at both shows i've been to have said they love playing boston and they're right. also, their opener for this show was genuinely fucking phenomenal. go buy yasmin william's music on bandcamp.
- STARSET, 5/14/2024, BIG NIGHT LIVE - this was i think the second show after brave new world dropped? sorry to everyone at the start of tour. we were built different. unbecoming as an opener went fucking crazy, as did devolution live. the fan projection they had for visuals was fucking phenomenal, as was the occasional FUCK THE NEW EAST! yell between songs.
- MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, 9/7/2022, TD GARDEN - as a teenager i promised myself that if MCR ever did a reunion tour i would not miss it. i booked these tickets AT WORK in 2020, on the clock, AT THE TELLER LINE in the middle of a rush. two years of delays later and i was there, in the crowd, getting to hear mama and famous last words live like i wasn't sure i would ever be able to. that week was hard for me. i had been laid off from work, and two days after that concert i would be unemployed. i was really struggling. so getting to be there, in that space with all these people and the band i never thought i'd EVER get to see perform... yeah. i needed that.
- STARSET, 12/3/2021, IRVING PLAZA- the first (and as of 2026, only) time i have ever done VIP for a concert. mostly to hear the acoustic set, which they closed out with ricochet - MAN i wish my audio of it had come out clean, that was a fucking delight - but it ended up paying off as i fell in with a group of people who managed to get to the barrier. for a long, long time this was the best concert i had ever been to. i almost blacked out after the my demons finale. notably, and unrelated to starset themselves, this was the concert where in the end was on the pre-show playlist and every single person in the venue interrupted their conversations to sing to the chorus. twice.
- PANIC! AT THE DISCO, 1/16/2016, iHEARTRADIO THEATER - i WON tickets to see this show. entered a random twitter contest and won two tickets to the death of a bachelor release concert. it was my first time ever in a standing room show and it was such a cool little experience. i was way more excited about it when it happened - as of writing this it's been ten years since that show, lmao - but even with my current feelings about the band it was a really special experience to have.
- FALL OUT BOY, 6/24/2015, JONES BEACH - my first real concert! as in the first one i bought tickets for because it was a band i wanted to see myself. we got really good seats for the little b-stage mini-set they did (young volcanoes!!!) and i still swear one of them made eye contact with me. lol. it was a fun show!
